Do the Arm Sleeves Really Work

05/14/2018

You might have seen in the races or on the sports ground where the athletes are wearing socks or arm sleeves. Here, we will let you know if it really works. During the summer season, every year, the half marathon and the full marathon are run where these arm sleeves are heavily used.

If you want to understand how the arm sleeves work, it is very important to understand how the blood flows through the body. The pumped oxygen from the heart runs to the blood vessels on the arteries. Once the oxygen and other nutrients are deoxygenated, the waste products on our body get transmitted to the heart, and then the same process of oxygenation starts.

Keeping the oxygenated blood flowing is important to perform any kind of activity. During any kind of exercise, our body produced different kinds of lactic acids as by-products. If this lactic acid is not removed from time to time then it can lead to sore body and will eventually decrease the energy to continue performing the physical activity. The arm sleeves and socks provide the compression which is generally tighter and then eventually tries to lessen up the tightness with time. Researchers say that the walls of our arteries should dilate to increase the blood flow. Any activity performed should increase the blood flow by 40%.

Are the compression arm sleeves and socks goof for cramps and strains?

Yes, Yes and Yes. They will not cure you of any injury if you try to but wearing them can make your injury less painful, it will help you to last long on the sports ground or in the marathon if you happen to get hurt on the ground. Proper massage, rest, stretching, footwear should be considered to deal with all the injuries.

Even if you are not injured, compression socks and arm sleeves are absolutely required. The blood flow will increase eventually and decrease the tiredness of your muscles. It also helps in recovering the injured legs faster and will let you train yourself in a workout better.

Should you wear the socks or sleeves?

The answer depends. If your injury involves on the part of the ankle, arch or heels then socks will help you cover up the injured part. If the injury is on the hands then the sleeves will help better. It also depends on the type of style you want to do, if you want the matching pairs then maybe you would like to ignore the compression socks type.

If you want yourself to recover fast, the socks and arm sleeves will accelerate your recovery and be less painful throughout the recovery process.
